Sweet Victory
We went to JJC with a single goal in mind. Victory was the golden fleece. Only ACS stood in our way. We fought hard, and though we were unlucky throughout most of the match (hit the blasted woodwork thrice!!!), we eventually emerged winners, courtesy of a beautiful header by Iqbal.
We were given a scare when the referee awarded ACS with a penalty 5 minutes before time. But Lady Luck finally smiled upon us as the ACS striker hit a tame shot wide past the post. After what seemed like an eternity, the final whistle blew. Cheering and ecstatic displays of celebration promptly took place. As for me, i was overwhelmed with emotion; i could already feel tears welling up in my eyes. This may sound dumb, seeing as this was our first official game. But i couldnt control myself. I guess this victory was particularly gratifying as we fought very hard for it. Hopefully, this would mark the start of TJ soccer's rise from the doldrums of A Div soccer, enabling us to prove to the rest that we are no pushovers.
I am seriously over the moon now.
