The above video was shown to my class today by our GP teacher Mr Hsu. It really struck a chord in me. In the video, Dr Randy Pausch gives a talk to an audience (on The Oprah Show); and he is dying from pancreatic cancer. What gained my respect was the fact that although he was dying, he chose to live the remainder of his life to the best that he could. Unlike countless others who have been diagnosed with terminal illnesses, he still maintains an optimistic outlook to life. His speech, though filled with numerous bits of humour, actually consists of many important lessons which ought to be learnt, with regards to how we live our lives. We should live our lives to the fullest. We should not dwell on past grievances; we should learn to smile more; irateness should be replaced by forgiveness. In essence, we should try our best to lead better and more meaningful lives.
Hence, if you have 10 mins to spare(and im sure you do), i would strongly recommend you all to watch the video of a truly inspirational man.
To someone whom i may have hurt or caused distress, Do not ever think for a second that it is your fault. Rather, it is my own insecurities which have resulted in a conflict existing within me. Do not feel any pressure to reciprocate my feelings. And lastly, im sorry for making you fret because i did not reply to your sms.
