The first realisation that we were in the same company and platoon was both weird and cool at the same time. Ok, so there i was sitting, waiting for the rest of my platoon to fall in. From some of the chatter around me, i realised that most of the guys in my company all had their birthdays in the Sept/Oct period. Hence, i was just musing to myself the chances of Sam being in my company. At that point of time, i wasnt really expecting much; needless to say, the fact of him actually being in my platoon never crossed my mind at all.
Just as i was processing this particular thought, the rest of my platoon arrived.. and who should i see strolling in but the guy himself.
Meeting a friend in the army is a welcome occurence in itself; but meeting and having a really close friend next to you throughout your whole course of training is a rhapsodic experience.
