Serendipity
First things first. The match.
Lost to SA 4-1. The unflattering scoreline suggests a total domination by SA over us; however, it was us who took the fight to them. We had nothing to lose. They were challenging for a place in the semi-finals; we were just hoping not to be last. We showed grit and determination as we repelled their attacks time and time again.
And then we scored.
A beauty of a volley by Abhi put us in a surprise yet deserved lead over the favourites. For a moment, we believed that we could achieve a victory. But it was not to be. They showed why they were up there fighting for honours, demonstrating some quick and crisp passing, which eventually led to the said result. Disappointing but nonetheless satisfying.
At this point of time, i would like to apologise to the chamber people in my class. To wynne, amos, chin: Im really sorry that i could not support all of you by attending the concert. I had a social obligation (namely a family function). Hope that it went smoothly!
OK anyway, back to the main focus of my post.
As mentioned earlier, i had to attend a family function. One of my grand uncles celebrated his birthday today. And my whole extended family was invited for the party. A whole restaurant was booked as my extended family could easily be mistaken for a private army. Ok, so there i was lamenting the fact that i could not go for chamber concert (seriously), and at the same time catching up with my numerous cousins, when SHE appeared.
*Warning: Exaggerated/self-indulging/delusional description ahead.*
As i was watching my grand uncle cut his cake, a sudden flash of green garment caught my eye. With a flutter of her dress, she whisked pass me, seemingly oblivious to the effect that she was having on me.
At first i could not believe my eyes.
Whats that saying?
Ahhh...
"It's a small world".
This was just simply too coincidental to be true.
But how could i ever forget those sparkling eyes, slightly cherubic visage and that beautiful smile??
Who is she?
Well, lets just say that in my 3 months in CJ last year, i had this crazy crush on her. HAHA, i can imagine you people laughing your socks off reading this.
She's one year my senior though; after all she was one of the orientation group leaders.
The irony of it all. She's a relative of mine, albeit not a close one.
After all these years attending gatherings and parties, i did not even know she was related to me.
And with a twist of fate, my time in CJ allowed me to know of her existence.

As i came to terms with this event, i was also wondering whether i should approach her and sort of talk to her. But, alas, being the complete hopeless buffoon that i am, i didnt.
Oh my goodness!!!
I must still be reeling in shock.
