Back To Civilization
The longest two weeks of my life.
No exaggeration whatsover.
Military confinement is seriously no laughing matter. I would elaborate more about my first two weeks in NS but apparently, blogging about anything NS-related is not allowed. I think im already treading on thin ice by mentioning about NS at all.
But anyway, the last two weeks have been rather eventful (to say the least). I got hit by a mild bout of homesickness and family-friends-sickness (if there even is such a word) for the first couple of days. I must say though, that having been in NCC for 4 years in secondary school did help me adjust and cope with NS life more quickly. However, having not been subjected to such regimentation for 2 years in JC did have the effect of giving me a culture shock sotospeak during the first few days. Hence, the feeling of depression and loneliness.
But our Lord God is great. He blessed me with really easy-going and affable section mates, firm yet fair platoon commanders and most importantly, He kept me healthy and safe throughout the two weeks. Doing quiet time in the dark after lights-out was a novel experience for me, but reading His word really kept me going.
Ok, off to take a nice hot (i stress the word HOT) shower and then to my oh-so-comfy bed. Hibernation then off to church.
Don't you just love civilian life? :P
