What Doesnt Kill You Only Makes You Stronger
Just back from youth camp on Ubin.
Fun and good company aside, i think this camp came at a very good time. Ive been backsliding a little prior to the camp due to various reasons. But this camp has kinda rekindled that spark which has been waning in recent times; be it through the message by Pastor Peter or the worship and fellowship, God's grace and glory has been emphasized ever so strongly.
And it really is through God's grace that i am able to even compose this post.
Near-death experiences are not something which you get to partake in everyday.
To cut a long story short, i almost died.
No joke or exaggeration.
Christiana and i were cycling when this crazy van came zooming towards us from behind. And it forced me off the road...
So you can sort of guess what happened next. I got flung out of my bike and went soaring headfirst into a pile of rocks. You've often heard that when you're tethering on the brink of death, your whole life flashes by you in an instant. Well, for me, for that split second before i landed in the rocks, it was just "Oh crap, im a goner."
And that darn driver just stopped there without even getting out. I reckon he was checking to see if i had died. That must have been the case, considering that he promptly drove away once i starting showing signs of movement.
Christiana, if you do read my blog, i would like to say sorry and thanks. Sorry, for scaring you while i lay there motionless at first. Thanks, for helping to tend to the wounds.
But as i said, God's grace is good. Save for a gashed shin, multiple bruises, scratches, cuts and an injured hand, im generally ok. :P But seriously, i thought i was going to die, or at the very least have a bad concussion.
Now i just pray that i dont have a hairline fracture in my hand.
