"Y'see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little...push."

Brilliant, awe-inspiring, dark, breathtaking... did i mention brilliant? :D

Watched The Dark Knight just now.

Clocking in at 2 hours and 32 minutes, it was one helluva ride. The action scenes come straight out at you from the very first scene, and then proceed to teeter on the brink of pandemonium(in a good way). The many twist and turns in the plot make the movie somewhat unpredictable, but ultimately, i think the actors were the keystones of the whole movie.

First up, Christian Bale. With this movie, he has officially cemented the role of the Batman as his own. Reserved and intense at first, he displays his capability for unfettered ruthlessness as the movie rolled on. I, for one, was able to feel and see his struggle with his personal demons i.e.morality versus greater good. A talented actor in his own right.

And of course, the highlight: Heath Ledger. The hype over his performance has certainly been justified. Holy crap, i couldnt even recognise him when he first appeared on screen. His Joker is creepy yet funny; sadistic yet melancholic. Heath Ledger has managed to capture the Joker's every quirk and idiosyncrasy, and the result is a manically-brilliant character who will forever be remembered. God bless his soul.

I dont know how anyone is going to top his performance if Christopher Nolan decides to direct another Batman movie.
