Lost cities and alternate worlds...

Watched Indy 4 on Wed and Prince Caspian today.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull... hmm, when i first heard the title some time back, i was like "okayyy...". Nevertheless, i grew up watching the exploits of Dr Jones, hence i was still relatively quite excited. It did not disappoint, but neither did it wow me. The reason being that it all seemed a bit contrived and too far-fetched for me(if you've watched the movie, you'll know what im talking about). I guess it suffers from the curse of movie sequels; it can never match up to the previous instalments. It certainly was a trip down nostalgia lane for Indy fans though, as it showcased all of the quintessential trademarks of Indy. Therefore, my final verdict is that if you're new to the series, you'll probably enjoy it more than if you've been rabidly following Indy's previous adventures.

I must say that Prince Caspian was much much better than The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The action was much more intense and at least Peter has learnt to fight better with a sword. (P.S. His swordplay in the first movie was rather embarassing :P ) I havent actually read the books but im actually tempted to do so now. Oh yeah, another totally random point i want to make is that i think the (TINY SPOILER AHEAD!) kiss between Prince Caspian and Susan was quite sweet. Purists may be fuming with regards to the romance subplot, but i personally think that it's a nice touch, if not a little too saccharine.

Cute couple yeah?

6 movies in 3 weeks. Im loving it..
Still more to come though:
Batman: The Dark Knight, The Mummy 3, Get Smart, 21, Wanted... to name but a few.
